Meet Matthew Agus and Dan Edley, Recruitment Consultants in the Construction Materials and Modular Team

E3 Recruitment (E3R) has welcomed two Recruitment Consultants to the Construction Materials and Modular team; Matthew Agus and Dan Edley. The team works in partnership with multiple national Construction Materials and Modular manufacturers, providing exclusive recruitment solutions hiring both temporary and permanent positions.

Below we find out more about Matthew and Dan’s role as Recruitment Consultants, why they want to work within recruitment and more about them:

What are your roles and responsibilities as Recruitment Consultants?

Matthew: I am part of the Construction Materials and Modular Team and work as a Recruitment Consultant, placing candidates into firms specialising in the manufacturing building products.

Dan: Recruitment consultant, specifically for the buildings materials sector, speaking with several clients and finding the right people for their roles. Ultimately getting the right people into jobs and filling vacancies!

What did you do beforehand and where?

Matthew: Previously I worked in the Middle East for seven and a half years, where I worked within the interior fit-out industry, providing furniture and flooring for commercial, healthcare, hotels and education projects in Dubai and the UAE.

Dan: I specialised in the development and provision of interactive technologies and AV solutions for museums, leisure facilities and family attractions.

What do you like most about E3R?

Matthew: The working environment is great with everyone being very helpful and always there to assist. I also admire the level of professionalism of the company and the calibre of clients who we get to help.

Dan: What I like the most is the amount of warm welcoming, genuine, and down to earth people that I have met here so far.

How have your first few months been?

Matthew: My first few months have flown by fast with some great results, helping clients in all corners of the UK and finding candidates the next step in their careers. I cannot wait to see what this year brings and to see where I will be at the end of 2022.

Dan: Great, I have been very busy learning the various platforms I need to use in order to perform my daily tasks, but I have been very well looked after and given everything I need, as well as endless support and encouragement from the E3R family.

What are you most looking forward to?

Matthew: The day I secure my own sourced client base and fill vacancies for them. I get a great sense of achievement from helping others and helping them achieve their goals.

Dan: Firstly, I’m really looking forward to the challenge; my previous experiences in life have given me the correct skillset, however, I have not been directly involved in recruitment before, so I will enjoy the challenge of something new to push myself further and progress in. Also helping people into employment, just knowing I may have helped somebody to improve their circumstances for them and their family will make me very proud and happy.

Can you tell me a fun fact about yourself?

Matthew: When I was at school, I was a very good rugby player and we played in the National School Cup Final in Cardiff. After the game, our team did a lap of honour around the Millennium Stadium in front of 75,000 Fans.

Dan: I was once (and might still be) a rapper in a hip hop group called Flame Griller. We used to gig quite often but stopped due to covid restrictions. There are a few gigs on the horizon for 2022 so fingers crossed!

What do you like to do outside of work?

Matthew: I love spending time with my family and mostly my little girl and introducing her to new experiences. I love visiting towns, cities and trying new foods.

Dan:  These days you will generally find me doing what seem to be never-ending DIY jobs around the house and hanging out with my three-year-old son. However, when I had a life I would make music, create art, and try to travel as much as I could. I also like classic cars and motor racing.

What attracted you to a career in recruitment?

Matthew: I have always had an interest in recruitment during my career and had touched on this through previous employers. As I naturally lean towards helping others, I thought there was no better industry than helping others find their dream jobs.

Dan: I spoke with James Soden at E3R and within 5 minutes I knew this was a great company to work for, full of great people to work with. I really like what E3R are doing and where they are heading, and that is was what attracted me.

What is your main goal at E3R?

Matthew: My main goal is to build a network of clients who I can work with long term, with professionalism at the forefront, followed by creating a network and pool of great candidates.

Dan: My main goal is to fully develop myself and my career at E3R. I would like to contribute to the further success of E3R and become an important and integral member of the team in the future.

What would you say to anyone looking to start their career in recruitment?

Matthew: I would say be prepared to work in an industry like no other, and that you must be resilient and always focused on the end goal.

Dan: I’d say speak with E3R, best recruitment consultants’ hands down, so why not start as you mean to go on.
