Ibstock opens the latest Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship opportunities in partnership with E3 Recruitment and Make UK Engineering School

As National Apprenticeships Week is coming to an end, E3 Recruitment is proud to be supporting Ibstock with the latest recruitment of new talent into their four-year Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship. The scheme provides essential training for both mechanical and Electrical Engineering roles, with a mixture of hands-on practical experience and theory classroom time supported by the Make UK Engineering School.

Ibstock has shown year after year their passion for the recruitment and development of talented individuals to meet and exceed customer expectations. With E3 Recruitment having supported Ibstock for over 9 years, our Construction Materials and Modular team is well versed in the requirements and culture of Ibstock and will be supporting the engagement and placement of talent into the latest apprentice opportunities.

Our teams are committed to supporting clients and candidates within the industries E3 Recruitment works within. From providing recruitment process support to being committed to bridging the skills gap to ensure a stronger future for the UK’s engineering and manufacturing firms.

With an acute need for more skilled engineers across the UK, Ibstock has designed an apprenticeship programme that has proved time and time again to be successful, receiving the TJ Awards Apprenticeship Programme of the year 2019, and more importantly accessible while maintaining professional standards. The Advanced Engineering Apprenticeship from Ibstock provides high levels of education and development, covering all major subjects required to go from apprentice to a highly skilled and valuable worker with strong prospects for further development, which Ibstock is passionate about providing even after apprenticeships have been completed.

The Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme lasts around 4 years, combining studying at the Make UK Engineering School in Birmingham (travel and hotel costs covered by Ibstock) with hands-on practical activities alongside an experienced mentor in either electrical or mechanical engineering. Progression into the second year will see apprentices based at an Ibstock factory with block release to the Training School to continue a BTEC Level 3 Diploma.

During the third and fourth year, apprentices will be factory based, putting newly gained skills and knowledge into practice and completing a Level 3 Diploma. The final year will also include the End-Point Assessment, which, once successfully completed, will lead to a new role at Ibstock as a qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer.

E3 Recruitment’s Dan Edley, Recruitment Consultant for our Building Products and Modular clients, will be supporting Ibstock with their recruitment drive to introduce new talent for their apprenticeships into the company.
