Meet E3R’s new Apprentice

E3R has welcomed new apprentice Charlotte Norton to the Food and Drink Team. Below we find out more about her new role, why she wants to work within recruitment and more about Charlotte:

What is your new role?

My role is an Apprentice Resourcer, so I support the team in sourcing quality candidates for a variety of roles from semi-skilled through to skilled Engineers.

Why do you want to work in recruitment?

I was looking for a career that uses my strongest attributes, which I feel are my personal skills. I love dealing with people from all walks of life, so to find a role that allowed me to do this was my number one priority. My role gives me a chance to develop my practical skills and fully utilise my all-round people skills. What really sold recruitment to me was the idea of being able to find the right person the perfect opportunity and genuinely make a difference to their life.

Why do you want to work in the Food & Drink Team?

The Food & Drink Team is one of the fastest growing divisions within E3R and I thought this would offer me the best opportunity to gain plenty of experience recruiting for different role types such as engineering, technical, production, operations and more. Alongside this there will be plenty of scope for me to develop and grow with the division as I further my skills and knowledge of the industry and become a true niche specialist.

Why do you want to work at E3R?

Working for E3R gives me the opportunity to work for an organisation that is a specialist within its sectors. My work environment is friendly and supportive with an underlying emphasis on hard work.  I am surrounded by like-minded individuals who know how to work hard and constantly challenge, excite, enthuse and motivate me to get better at what I do. I had a week’s induction programme and the training is ongoing with the chance to shadow a number of people, so that I can learn how to pick up the phone and approach people.

What did you do previously?

Previous to my apprenticeship, I attended Huddersfield New College where I studied A Level Business, Photography and Graphics. When studying business this gave me an insight into what a potential day could be like in the world of work. On a part time basis I also worked at a sweet shop, which enhanced my customer service skills and where I realised I wanted to work with people on a daily basis.

What are your interests?

My main interest is socialising with friends and family and when I’m not with them I keep up to date with them being an avid user of social media. Having taken photography at college allowed me to fine tune my photography skills.
