Supporting Children’s Heart Surgery Fund: E3R Team Joins ‘It’s a Knockout’ for a Worthy Cause

A team of ten dedicated E3R members are preparing to take part in the iconic vintage TV show ‘It’s a Knockout,’ all with the goal of raising funds for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund—an endeavour that resonates deeply with E3R’s core mission. The event, beginning on Sunday, June 25th, will take place at Roundhay Park in Leeds. While the lively proceedings won’t be captured by cameras, the festivities promise an abundance of water, foam, and inflatables.

In the preceding year, E3 Recruitment’s participation in the Leeds 10k showcased an impressive achievement: crossing the finish line in just over an hour and raising an exceptional sum of over £1300. The profound impact of these contributions on the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund has spurred E3R’s unwavering commitment to sustained support for the charity’s honourable mission. This year, the collective ambition of the team reaches even greater heights, with a target of gathering £2000 in charitable donations.

The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund occupies a pivotal role in fortifying the capabilities of the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit at the Leeds General Infirmary. Their substantial financial backing has translated into state-of-the-art equipment, improved ward facilities, provisions for staffing and training, accommodations and assistance for families, and robust pathways for research endeavours. The charity’s pursuits extend to the aspiration of funding an innovative children’s heart theatre, poised to expedite surgical wait times and furnish advanced equipment for intricate medical procedures.

Andrew Pilling, Director of E3 Recruitment, commented on the partnership; “The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund holds profound significance for us, serving as the driving force behind our enthusiastic engagement in this enduring obstacle course. Our endeavours not only provide vital financial aid to an exceptional charity but also promise a day of enjoyment for the entire E3R team.”
