E3R completes its Around the World Challenge

E3R has completed its Around the World Challenge, after setting off from Quito in Ecuador six months ago at the beginning of lockdown and has covered 8536km, passing through 13 countries.

The E3R team has been running, walking, riding and exercising – putting all this activity and distance to good use by challenging ourselves to see if we could get around the world by the end of August with all our kilometres (km) combined – which we did!

Our route around the equator took us through 13 countries: Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil, Sao Tome, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya. Somalia, Maldives, Indonesia and Kiribati.

The equator is 40,075km, of which only 21% is land, so to reach our target we covered 8536km.
Exercise is brilliant for physical and mental health, and it has been a great team effort, all encouraging one another to get active to cover more kms to reach our target.
