Supporting the Howarths Foundation Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup 2026
We are proud to continue our partnership with Howarths Foundation as they prepare for this year’s Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup, an event bringing together business leaders, sporting personalities, and the local community to raise vital funds for an incredible cause.
Associate Director and Head of our Chemical & Process division, James Travis, will represent E3R on the pitch as part of the Howarths side, supporting fundraising efforts throughout the day. This year’s fixture sees the Business Building Futures team take on a Celebrity XI, managed by former Leeds United and Huddersfield Town player and manager, and Howarths Foundation ambassador, Simon Grayson and led by former professional footballer Jermaine Beckford and a mix of ex-professional athletes, music artists, and sporting personalities.

Their focus is on creating sustainable impact by opening doors to opportunities that can genuinely change lives.

A Partnership Built Through Shared Platforms and Shared Purpose
Our relationship with Howarths Foundation has developed strongly since it’s beginning in March 2025, built on shared values and a commitment to creating opportunities for people across the region.
We are proud to be a member of their Business Building Futures programme, which has helped strengthen our involvement and connection with their wider mission to support people into employment, education, and training.
Our partnership is also strengthened through Leeds Manufacturing Festival, where Howarths Foundation are a charity partner and we are a long-standing headline sponsor. This provides the foundation for a wider working relationship, which has since grown into active collaboration on a number of initiatives.
In August 2025, the Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup saw our Chemical and Process team represent E3 in a standout performance, scoring twice in a 7-1 victory for the Howarths team. The event itself raised over £2,000, supported by strong engagement from across the community.
In September 2025, the E3R team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, which tested us physically and mentally, all in aid of raising vital funds for the charity. After a gruelling day, the E3 team managed to raise over £3,000 for Howarths Foundation.
In October 2025, members of E3 took on the Giant Sleep Out, spending a night sleeping in Accu Stadium to raise funds for the Howarths Foundation and experiencing first hand why this is such an important cause.
Be Part of the Action
We are incredibly proud of the relationship we have built with Howarths Foundation and remain committed to supporting their mission moving forward.
The Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup is another example of how sport, business, and community can come together to make a meaningful difference, and we look forward to continuing our involvement in the years ahead.
