Having studied an undergraduate in Biology and a Master’s in Biotechnology & Bioengineering, James brings with him a wealth of knowledge to better support our pharmaceutical clients across the UK.
As always it’s a pleasure getting to know our newest team members and seeing how their first month has been. Read below to find out more about James and his role within E3 Recruitment.
Tell us about yourself. Can you give us some background on your career and what led to you joining E3R?
An initial interest in biologics led me to complete a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Masters in Biotechnology & Bioengineering at university. Wanting to pursue a related career in Pharmaceuticals, I worked in Quality for a leading Biologics company for a year gaining valuable industry experience, before E3R provided the perfect opportunity to combine my experience in pharmaceuticals and interest in sales to launch a related career in Pharmaceutical Recruitment.
Outside of Science, I enjoy sports including Football and Tennis, I recently completed a Marathon in support of Dementia UK. I’m keen on films: My favourite movie is ‘Into The Wild’, I strongly recommend a watch.
Tell us about your role and responsibilities in the Chemical & Pharmaceutical recruitment team
As a Specialist Chemical / Pharmaceutical Consultant, I am working hard alongside Richard Steadman (Senior Recruitment Consultant) and James Travis (Business Sector Manager) in growing E3R’s presence within the ‘golden triangle’ of UK Biopharma- London, Oxford & Cambridge, and surrounding areas. I look after all aspects of the recruitment process for my clients, supporting candidates and clients in a ‘360’ recruitment role, with a key focus on establishing and maintaining positive, productive and progressive relationships.
What are you looking forward to in your role?
I look forward to upcoming months as I aim to continue to develop my recruitment and industry knowledge, and to deliver as a successful consultant. My aim is to build a portfolio of candidates and clients that can consistently rely on myself and E3R to deliver high-quality chemical and pharmaceutical recruitment solutions.
How have your first few months been at E3R?
E3R has been excellent with supporting my onboarding, providing high-quality guidance and support throughout my first month. It’s been great getting to know my immediate team and heading up to our Yorkshire offices to meet the rest of my colleagues.
What initially attracted you to Recruitment, and what would you say to anyone looking to start their career in recruitment?
Recruitment provides a brilliant opportunity to build a successful career relevant to your chosen industry. Hard work is rewarded with excellent career progression opportunities and uncapped earning potential. It’s an ideal career choice for those who enjoy meeting people, making relationships, and improving industry knowledge.
E3R wouldn’t be where it is today without our people, who continually strive to support their clients and candidates across all sectors. If you are looking for a new opportunity in recruitment, finance, marketing, compliance, or training, we are always open to hearing from you to see where you could fit best!
