Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

A global chemical manufacturer at the forefront of sustainability, clean energy transition and circular economy innovation is looking to appoint a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering and operations team in Warrington.

The Role of Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining plant equipment, infrastructure and site reliability through planned, preventative and reactive maintenance activities across both Mechanical and EC&I disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served, Multiskilled Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement and sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities of the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer:

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation systems
  • Fault find and diagnose issues across complex process plant equipment
  • Support plant reliability, minimise downtime and maximise operational availability
  • Carry out maintenance activities in line with SAP PM schedules
  • Support commissioning, plant modifications and improvement projects
  • Maintain compliance with HSE procedures, permits and isolation standards
  • Work closely with production teams, engineering colleagues and contractors
  • Update maintenance records and work orders within SAP CMMS systems
  • Participate in the site on-call engineering rota

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (e.g. HNC/HND in their engineering discipline)
  • Multi-skilled engineering experience across Mechanical and EC&I disciplines
  • Experience within chemical, manufacturing or process industries
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, motors, drives, instrumentation and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and control drawings
  • Experience using SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems
  • Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and organisational skills
