Inspiring the Next Generation: National Manufacturing Day 2025
Following the success of the last two years, West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services is proud to once again host the ‘Meet the Manufacturers’ Showcase as part of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day. Taking place on Thursday 25th September 2025, this year’s event promises to be the biggest yet, with up to 600 students expected to attend throughout the day.
‘Meet the Manufacturers’
Now in its third year, the Meet the Manufacturers event is designed to open young minds to the exciting and ever-evolving world of manufacturing and engineering. The event will take place at Kirkdale House in Brighouse and will feature an impressive range of exhibitors from across the region.
Students will get to:
- Participate in hands-on STEM and engineering challenges
- Watch product demos and live machinery in action
- Explore real-world innovations made right here in West Yorkshire
- Hear from industry experts about future career opportunities
The aim? To show students that manufacturing is not just about factories – it’s about technology, creativity, innovation, and solving real-world problems.
Bridging the Skills Gap
One of the biggest challenges the manufacturing and engineering industries face is attracting the next generation of talent. With an ageing workforce and a growing demand for technical skills, events like this are vital in reshaping perceptions and promoting the sector as a rewarding, modern, and future-focused career option.
As exhibitors for a third year, we’re incredibly passionate about supporting this mission. We believe in investing in future talent and showcasing the exciting pathways manufacturing can offer – whether that’s through apprenticeships, technical training, design roles, or advanced automation careers.
About Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day
Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day is a UK-wide celebration held annually on the last Thursday in September. Hundreds of manufacturers open their doors to schools, jobseekers, and communities to raise awareness about the vital role manufacturing plays in the UK economy.
Organised by Make UK, the day brings local industry and education together to tackle misconceptions and promote long-term careers. In 2024, the initiative reached thousands of young people through factory tours, interactive workshops, and inspiring talks across the country.
The 2025 edition is expected to be even more impactful, with events taking place in every region, backed by local schools, colleges, and government organisations.
