Riz Haider - Principal Consultant sector icon

Riz Haider

I recruit across engineering and manufacturing, working closely with a wide range of clients and candidates across mostly blue collar but also white collar roles. My most frequent roles are mechanical fitters, welders, production operatives, CNC machinists, and labourers – the backbone of the industry.

What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment?

It’s all about the satisfaction of landing someone a job. There’s nothing better than knowing you’ve helped people for the better.

What sets you apart from other recruiters?

I pride myself on always being available to my clients and candidates – seven days a week. Whether it’s a candidate needing advice or a client with a last-minute request – I’m always just a call away.

Can you share a standout moment in your career?

I have placed two people who started out on the shop floor and have watched them both work their way up to head-of department roles, which is extremely rewarding.

How does your background help you in recruitment?

I come from a sales background, so I’m naturally target-driven and thrive in fast-paced environments. That experience taught me the value of resilience, focus, and clear communication.

What can clients expect when working with you?

Clients can expect honesty and clear communication. I’ll always be upfront and realistic.

What advice would you give to someone looking for their next role in your sector?

Be honest, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Take pride in your work and back yourself – confidence can go a long way.

What do you enjoy most about being part of E3R?

Definitely the people. We’ve got a great atmosphere here, with flexibility, really good clients, and a supportive team. It’s a great place to work.

How has your career evolved since you started in recruitment?

Over time, I’ve built up long-standing relationships with key clients and created a strong network across the engineering and manufacturing industry, particularly in Huddersfield. Those connections have been vital to my career growth.

How would your colleagues describe you in three words?

Hard-working, approachable, and a bit daft.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love watching cricket on a Saturday afternoon, and going out for a nice meal.

Do you have a motto you live by in your work?

Work smart and hard

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?

Never get too complacent. This industry changes fast, so I always try to think outside the box and stay one step ahead.
