As Principal Consultant, I focus on recruitment across the engineering and manufacturing sectors, working with roles like Mechanical Engineers, Fitters, CNC Machinists, Welders, Pipe Fitters, and Quality Professionals. Being part of business growth, and seeing how a single hire can make a tangible impact is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
No two days are ever the same. You’re constantly learning, adapting, and connecting with people from all sorts of backgrounds. I’ve always been a people person and I have a naturally friendly and empathetic approach. I genuinely enjoy getting to know the clients and candidates I work with.
Clients and candidates can expect honesty from me at all times, but always with their best interests in mind. I aim to be more than just a recruiter, I want to be someone people can talk to and trust. bring value by understanding the industry in detail and tailoring my approach to what each individual or business truly needs.
I stay up to date with the industry by staying active on relevant social media, attending events, such as Leeds Manufacturing Festival and, most importantly, listening to the people I speak to every day. I’ve always had an interest in engineering , even outside of work, and that natural curiosity helps me stay sharp and engaged.
Right now, the market is under pressure. Rising operational costs are creating uncertainty, and redundancies across the sector are becoming more common. It’s forced everyone to adapt, stay agile, and think long-term.
Keep learning. The most successful people I’ve seen are the ones who stay curious, who ask smart questions, listen carefully, and take every opportunity to grow their skills.
Since starting in recruitment, my role has evolved massively. I’m more confident, more influential, and I’ve been given the freedom to really shape how I work. That trust and autonomy have helped me grow quickly in my career. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is play the long game. Building a strong team to meet organisational goals isn’t just about who you hire today, it’s about building a team for the future.
What stands out most about E3R is the culture. It’s collaborative – not cutthroat or competitive. Everyone genuinely wants each other to succeed. It’s a friendly, supportive team that makes coming into work something to look forward to. If I had to sum up my work in a motto it would be stay agile.
Outside of work, I’m usually out running, climbing, walking, or cooking and I’m always up for a good meal out or catching up with friends.
