Alex Feather - Recruitment Consultant for E3 Recruitment | White Collar Manufacturing sector icon

Alex Feather

I specialise in recruiting for white collar positions in the general manufacturing sector, with a particular focus on placing high-calibre professionals into roles such as Buyers, Mechanical Design Engineers, QHSE Managers, and Sales Managers. This space constantly evolves, and I enjoy working with individuals who bring diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table.

What sets you apart in how you work with candidates and clients?

Having been on the other side of the recruitment process myself, I always put myself in the candidate’s shoes. That experience drives me to treat every client and candidate with the honesty, care, and respect I would have wanted.

Can you share a standout placement in your career?

One standout placement came from taking the time to really understand a hiring manager’s needs. After several in-depth discussions, I was able to fill the role with the very first CV I submitted. That’s the kind of precision and understanding I aim for.

How does your background support your recruitment approach?

I am used to having high-level conversations with management and executive-level professionals, making senior appointments and executive recruitment feel natural. Clients can expect honesty, attention to detail, and total dedication to the recruitment process from me.

What advice do you give to those looking for a role in the industry?

The advice is simple: be honest and be yourself. That authenticity often makes all the difference.

What challenges or trends are you seeing in the market?

Right now, the market is facing challenges – we’re seeing widespread redundancies and an oversupply of candidates, while companies are navigating economic uncertainty. Staying informed through LinkedIn, industry conversations, and platforms like BBC News helps me provide meaningful insights and advice.

What do you enjoy most about working at E3R?

What I love most is the genuine reward that comes from placing someone in a role they’re truly excited about. It’s those moments that make it all worthwhile.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Polite, dedicated, and attentive.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy scuba diving and walking, which help me unwind.

How has your career evolved since starting in recruitment?

Since starting as a Recruitment Consultant, I’ve developed a strong sense of pride in the local manufacturing industry and knowledge of the area.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your career?

Always be ready for change.
