Project Engineer – 2 x 6 Month FTC

A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking for two experienced Project Engineers to join their team on a 6-month FTC, supporting a major contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Engineer with a mechanical engineering or heavy manufacturing background who enjoys working across multiple teams, managing project plans and driving delivery in a technically demanding environment.

What’s on offer:

  • £45,000 per annum (pro rata for 6-month FTC – £22,500)
  • 6-month FTC
  • Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • 33 days holiday, including bank holidays
  • Flexi-time – flexible working hours allowing you to accrue up to an additional 12 days’ annual leave per annum
  • Pension – up to 8% employer contribution
  • Death in Service – up to 5x basic salary (if enrolled in the pension scheme)

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for helping ensure manufactured parts are delivered in line with the project plan, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and customer-facing Project Managers to keep milestones on track.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and risk matrices
  • Tracking progress, managing risks and driving actions to mitigate delays
  • Coordinating activity across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other business functions
  • Managing changes to project scope and schedules
  • Leading internal project meetings and escalating issues where require whilst Maintaining project information and KPIs within SAP

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer within a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing background – essential
  • Heavy Engineering experience
  • Strong experience using MS Project and MS Office
  • Competent SAP user
  • Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills

Experience within Defence, Aerospace, or other highly regulated engineering/manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
