An exclusive vacancy is available for a Maintenance Engineer to join a food manufacturing company based in Thorne, South Yorkshire working Monday – Friday 8-hour shifts rotating mornings, afternoons and nights. This opportunity is paying £42,370 per annum plus up to £3,972 per annum for shift handover as well as plenty of overtime available paid at 1.5x. You will be offered additional benefits including 2 x life insurance, 31 days annual leave and a company healthcare scheme.

You will be working in a small and close-knit team where you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced environment, upskill yourself and undergo further qualifications and training.

Roles and Responsibilities as a Maintenance Engineer:

  • You will be responsible for dealing with both reactive and preventative maintenance across the whole site.
  • You will be involved with a variety of projects such as New Machinery Installations.
  • Working independently to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults, machine emergencies or unplanned problems in a systematic and logical manner.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for each machine.

I would love to see CVs from individuals who have:

  • A Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi Skilled Engineering with a minimum of 1 year hands-on experience in a relevant role or a Level 2 in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi Skilled Engineering but a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in a relevant role.
  • Knowledge of maintaining production machinery such as conveyors, mixers, ovens and flow wrappers to name a few.
  • Industry experience within Food, Drink or Packaging would be desirable but the minimum requirement for the role would be experience within any fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Worked previously as an Electrical Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Shift Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Multi-Skilled Technician.
