Head of PMO

This Head of PMO role provides the opportunity to join a major industrial manufacturing business and play a key role in strengthening project delivery and governance across a complex organisation. The role offers significant scope to establish and develop the PMO function and influence project delivery across the business.

As Head of PMO, you will work with senior leaders and project teams to improve project governance, performance, and portfolio oversight, supporting the successful delivery of strategic projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead the PMO function.
• Develop and embed project, programme, and portfolio governance frameworks.
• Monitor project performance, risks, costs, benefits, and dependencies.
• Support portfolio prioritisation and strategic investment decisions.
• Drive project management best practice and continuous improvement.
• Provide clear reporting and insight to senior leadership.
• Develop consistent project management processes, controls, and standards.
• Work with stakeholders across the business to improve project delivery and organisational change.

To be considered for this role, candidates should have significant portfolio management, programme management, or project delivery experience within a complex manufacturing, industrial, or similarly challenging environment. Experience delivering large-scale transformation, operational improvement, or capital investment programmes is essential, alongside strong governance, financial control, benefits realisation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ, PMP, or an equivalent project management qualification would be advantageous.
