This is a brand-new position offering a permanent opportunity with a salary of up to £35,000 per year, depending on experience. The Commercial Bodywork Engineer is fully site-based, working from a dedicated repair bay solely focused on warranty and repair work, providing a structured environment where quality and attention to detail are paramount.

Working standard days, Monday to Friday, this role focuses on commercial vehicles that have completed the conversion process and returned to the workshop for warranty repairs or faults once it has left the workshop.

Joining a well-established manufacturer as a Commercial Bodywork Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting customers by rectifying defects and ensuring vehicles meet the highest quality standards after leaving the production facility.

Duties of the Commercial Bodywork Engineer:

  • Carry out repairs to damaged commercial vehicle bodies, panels, and structures.
  • Remove and replace body panels, flooring, side panels, and associated components.
  • Perform light fabrication, cutting, drilling, and fitting work as required.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Conduct aluminium and steel body repairs.
  • Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed to a high quality standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and repair specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production and customer deadlines.

Key responsibilities of the Commercial Bodywork Engineer include carrying out repairs to vehicle bodies and conversion components, diagnosing faults, completing warranty work, replacing damaged parts, and ensuring all repairs are completed to company standards.

Previous experience within vehicle body building, coach building, commercial vehicle repairs, fabrication, or vehicle conversions would be highly advantageous.
