With over 100 years of history in the precision engineering industry this renowned market leader are looking for a CNC Machinist to join their team. Distributing their bespoke product range across the globe, offering job security and structured progression plans.

KEY ACCOUNT-ABILITIES FOR THE CNC MACHINIST:

  • Programme, set-up, adjust, and operate Fanuc & HAAS controlled CNC machines in order to perform precision turning & milling operations on small batches ranging from 1-off to 50-off parts;
  • Program vertical machining centres using OneCNC CAD CAM package;
  • Read engineering drawings and understand the specifications and tolerance;
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of the operations needed to produce products;
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work;
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines and manufacture bespoke tooling where suitable tooling is not available;
  • Machine parts to specifications using manual machine tools such as Bridgeport milling machines and various centre lathes;
  • Inspect parts and their dimensions using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as micrometers, DTI’s, gauge blocks;

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS CNC MACHINIST ROLE:

  • Formal mechanical and manufacturing engineering qualification (or equivalent)
  • Time served apprenticeship
  • Proficient in creation and notification of CNCcode “at the machine”
  • Experience working in a precision engineering environment
  • Proven understanding of CNC machinist responsibilities
  • Experience machining various materials, steel, aluminium and brass
  • Experience programming using CAD CAM software
  • Ability to read engineering drawings

In return for this CNC machinist role you will receive a salary up to £30k basics, paid hourly. Overtime is available. 38 hour standard week. pension, death in service. 28 days holiday rising 1 day per year up to 5 years. Pension scheme.
