Up to £20 – 22 an hr, Overtime paid after 8 hours daily, at x1.5, 10 hours a week available, OTE c£60K plus, Purfleet, Essex, Permanent. Monday-Friday, 6:00am-5pm, 1 hour, lunch break, days Holiday Increased Entitlement with Service.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer or Plant Fitter to join a well-established specialist engineering business providing servicing, repair and installation of lorry-loader cranes and vehicle-mounted lifting equipment.

The company are looking to invest in training and qualifications to train the right person into a fully skilled HGV Lorry Loader Engineer. The training would involve gaining ALLMI and LOLER qualifications.

Duties of the Hydraulic Engineer (Once fully trained):

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing lorry-loader and truck-mounted lifting equipment
  • Diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Working on pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses and hydraulic control systems.
  • Fault-finding on 24V electrical, CAN bus and electronic control systems.
  • Carrying out planned servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Installing, wiring, testing and commissioning new systems.
  • Completing inspections, testing and LOLER-related work where qualified.
  • Mechanical repairs, component replacement and occasional fabrication/welding.
  • Providing technical support and equipment handovers to customers.
  • Field based and workshop-based role.
