Our client, an established specialist contractor, is seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to deliver a civils and groundworks project in Worksop.

What’s in it for you as Project Manager / Contract Manager / Site Manager

  • Location: Worksop
  • Contract: 3-6 months
  • Day rate: £400-£450, dependent on experience

Responsibilities of Project Manager / Contract Manager / Site Manager

  • Manage the project from mobilisation through to completion and handover
  • Oversee bulk earthworks, cut-and-fill, drainage and ground preparation
  • Coordinate groundworkers, subcontractors, site engineers, plant and materials
  • Manage site levels, formations, excavations and drainage installations
  • Develop and maintain the construction programme
  • Review drawings, specifications, RAMS and quality documentation
  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification
  • Monitor progress, costs, variations, delays and operational risks
  • Lead site meetings and provide progress reports
  • Manage testing, snagging, as-built records and final handover

Candidate requirements of Project Manager / Site Manager

  • Extensive civils, earthworks and groundworks experience
  • Proven ability to manage projects from cradle to grave
  • Strong knowledge of drainage, ground preparation and plant-led operations
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager or senior Site Manager
  • Strong health-and-safety, commercial and client-management skills
  • Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience in sports facilities, large external works, landscaping or specialist drainage would be advantageous.
