As Project Manager you will lead a £2.5m-£3m emissions-reduction project from feasibility through to the installation, commissioning and handover of a new industrial scrubber system.

A market-leading, manufacturing organisation requires an experienced Engineering Project Manager to deliver a major capital project at its Newcastle Facility.

The Engineering Project Manager role:

You will join during the current feasibility stage and take ownership of the project through detailed design, procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover.

Working with the central procurement team, you will manage the RFQ/RFT process before selecting and managing the OEM, specialist suppliers and contractors responsible for delivering the new scrubber system.

Key responsibilities of Engineering Project Manager:

  • Review and develop the current feasibility work
  • Manage project scope, programme, budget, risk and change
  • Lead the RFQ/RFT and supplier-selection process
  • Manage OEMs and contractors through design and installation
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, civil and process workstreams
  • Oversee commissioning, performance testing and handover
  • Act as Principal Contractor and ensure compliance with CDM

About you as Engineering Project Manager:

  • Proven cradle-to-grave capital-project delivery experience
  • Experience managing OEMs, suppliers and contractors
  • Ideally experienced in scrubbers, emissions control, process plant or comparable industrial installations
  • Strong knowledge of CDM and contractor management
  • Ideally HNC, HND or degree-qualified in an engineering discipline
  • Applications are welcomed from a wide range of manufacturing, process and heavy-engineering backgrounds
