This Health & Safety Manager role provides the opportunity to join a leading heavy manufacturing business and play a key role in driving safety excellence within a high-risk operational environment. As a Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of standards, compliance, and assurance, working closely with operational leaders to strengthen risk management, improve performance, and embed a culture of accountability.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a major industrial operation, influencing strategy, improving governance processes, and ensuring consistent application of H&S standards across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of H&S professionals to deliver effective assurance and compliance.
  • Drive consistent standards and ensure alignment with legal and company requirements.
  • Manage and improve H&S management systems, processes, and governance.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to identify risks and implement improvements.
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends and reduce operational risk.
  • Support investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with operational teams to strengthen controls around critical risks.
  • Promote a proactive culture through strong leadership and engagement.

To be considered for this role, candidates should hold a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate (NEBOSH Diploma preferred) and have experience within H&S management, auditing, compliance frameworks, and improvement programmes. Strong leadership skills, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and experience operating within a high-risk manufacturing environment are essential.
