We’re recruiting for a Graduate Design Engineer to join a well establish Engineering Group based in Huddersfield close to the M62 link. As a Graduate Mechanical Design, you will play is a pivotal part of the production process within Engineering and assist the team in the development of new and existing products to meet both industry and customer-specific specifications.

The Graduate Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor and Group Engineering / Technical Manager and works closely with the Research & Development, Sales and Production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • The preparation of General Assembly and manufacturing drawings utilising Autodesk Inventor/CAD packages.
  • The preparation of Bills of Materials within the company’s MRP system
  • The preparation of installation, operational and maintenance manuals.
  • The design and development of new and existing pressure related products.
  • Assisting in day-to-day troubleshooting and product performance problem solving.
  • The preparation of valve factory test procedures.
  • This list is not exhaustive.

Essential / Desirable Skills

  • Strong design skills applicable to valve design.
  • Understanding of BS8888 drawing standards
  • Excellent 2D and 3D CAD skills, ideally Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with an MRP system.
