Maintenance Engineer (Plumber)

Annual Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week)
12 Month (FTC) with the possibility of becoming permanent

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer (Plumber) to join the facilities maintenance team at a leading global company that specialises in mechanical solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to provide reliable, safe, and efficient plumbing maintenance support within a busy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on water supply, drainage, air pipework, and wastewater systems
  • Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and failures in pipework, valves, and fixtures
  • Maintain and repair floor drains, grease traps, sumps, and foul water systems
  • Install and modify pipework (plastic, copper, steel) as required
  • Support minor industrial plumbing systems and assist with air pipework connections
  • Conduct routine inspections and assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Ensure compliance with water hygiene standards and relevant plumbing regulations
  • Work collaboratively with electricians, fitters, and other maintenance personnel
  • Participate in emergency call-out response when necessary

What We’re Looking For:

  • Recognised plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; NVQ Level 2/City & Guilds considered)
  • Experience in domestic plumbing with exposure to light industrial or commercial environments
  • Understanding of water supply, drainage, sanitary pipework, air pipework, and evaporative cooling towers (desirable)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read basic drawings and maintenance instructions
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team
