I had worked in recruitment for over 23 years before founding E3R. I originally fell into the industry, starting with a large blue chip organisation where I was thrown in at the deep end, which was exactly what I needed. I progressed quickly into management and my career accelerated, but in a corporate environment I often felt like a number rather than an individual.
After leaving, I worked within SMEs and that experience completely changed my perspective. I saw what great recruitment looked like, how powerful relationships could be when people truly buy into you, and how much better the industry could be.
I was often asked why not start my own business. At the time I was a single mum, and I realised that if I did not take the leap then, I probably never would. So I did. I wanted to build a business that genuinely values its candidates and clients, recognises the people who work within it, and creates a platform where people can grow from trainee level right through to senior leadership. That vision is what drove me to start E3R.
Securing and expanding into our own office was a huge milestone. It gave us the space and confidence to expand as a team and invest in the future of the business.
Another defining moment was being recognised as a recruiter of choice during the Covid period. When the pressure was on, we pulled together as one team. Because we operate within manufacturing and engineering, we were able to continue supporting businesses that were still running production. That period demonstrated our resilience, our commitment to our sectors, and the strength of our relationships.
Our culture is built on respect, collaboration and partnership, and those foundations remain constant as we grow. As the business evolves, so does our culture, but our core belief has always been that people come first.
We have created an environment where individuals are supported to develop, encouraged to contribute ideas, and recognised for their impact. There is a genuine sense of teamwork and shared purpose. We hold ourselves accountable to high standards, we support one another, and we celebrate success together. It is a positive, ambitious and supportive place to work, and we are committed to ensuring our values remain at the heart of everything we do as we continue to grow.
We are not just recruiters. From the beginning, we set out to build partnerships rather than operate transactionally. That means strong relationships not only with clients and candidates, but also with industry partners, schools and education providers.
We are passionate about bridging the gap between industry and education, ensuring the future workforce is aligned with the needs of engineering and manufacturing. We operate more as a consultancy than a traditional agency, asking what additional value we can bring and how we can support long term growth. That approach has led to exclusive partnerships with local engineering companies who consistently choose to work with us.
Starting as a trainee and progressing to senior director level over a 20 year career gave me a deep understanding of the industry from every angle. I have built divisions from the ground up, including launching a technical engineering division that retained multi million pound profit in its first year.
That experience gave me the confidence and capability to run my own business. I understood the mechanics, the strategy and the leadership required. What I needed was the courage to take the leap, and once I did, I knew I could make it work.
Clients can expect a true extension of their team. We are there for the journey, not just to fill a vacancy.
We listen carefully, understand their challenges, and present solutions. We offer advice, insight and support beyond recruitment, acting as a genuine employment partner. It matters to us that what we deliver achieves the right results, and we are fully invested in the success of the businesses we support.
I am most proud of the people. The teams who show up every day determined to make an impact within the industry. Their dedication, passion and pride in being part of E3R means everything.
What we have achieved, we have achieved together. I genuinely enjoy coming to work, working alongside our teams, and building relationships with the clients and sectors we support.
I enjoy walking, spending time with friends over meals and drinks, and making memories on holidays with my family. I have also recently started focusing more on my health and wellbeing with the support of a PT, which has been an important personal journey.
I strongly believe that life is for living and making the most of it.
I believe in leading from the front. I would never ask the team to do something I would not do myself.
Show up, work hard, stay committed and be prepared to make sacrifices.
