Laura Rogers - Recruitment Consultant at E3 Recruitment

Laura Rogers

I specialise in engineering recruitment within the building and construction materials sector, with a key focus on maintenance engineering roles. No two days are the same – and that’s exactly what I love about working in recruitment.

What do you enjoy most about recruitment?

For me, it’s the fast pace and the impact you can have. I really enjoy helping people take meaningful steps in their careers. When you know you’ve made a positive difference, it’s a great feeling – and it makes the days fly by.

What sets your approach apart when working with clients and candidates?

I prioritise building strong relationships. I invest time in getting to know my clients and understanding what truly motivates them. That deeper connection allows me to offer better, more tailored support.

How has your background helped you in your role?

Before moving into building and construction materials recruitment, I worked in marketing for E3R, which gave me a solid understanding of the industry landscape, the sectors we support, and the challenges they face. That insight continues to shape how I work today.

What can clients expect when working with you?

Clients can expect someone who is open, honest, and focused on quality. I take the time to understand what they need and set realistic expectations, while consistently delivering strong candidates.

What advice would you give to candidates?

Make sure your CV truly reflects your skills and experience – use clear examples of what you’ve achieved. Keep an eye on opportunities, stay in touch with recruiters, and be proactive about your search.

How do you stay informed about your sector?

I stay up to date by monitoring industry news, LinkedIn, company updates, and speaking regularly with clients, candidates, and my team. I also find marketing insights and social media really helpful.

What do you enjoy most about working at E3R?

Without a doubt the people and the environment. It’s a fun, supportive, and positive place to work where everyone encourages each other to do well.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Positive, friendly, and resilient.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym, spending time with my family, walking my dog, and going out for meals.

How has your recruitment career evolved?

I’ve become much more resilient and confident – especially when speaking with candidates and clients. I know the market, I understand the roles, and that knowledge gives me confidence in conversations.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

Stay consistent with your communication. Regular, honest updates with clients make a big difference in building trust and long-term partnerships.
