This employer is based in SLAITHWAITE meaning that the successful Production Manager will be easily able to commute from surrounding towns and cities including Huddersfield, Oldham, Holmfirth, Halifax, Brighouse and Barnsley.

Key responsibilities of the Production Manager will include:

  • Lead production operations across multiple shifts, ensuring on-time-in-full delivery through effective planning, resource allocation and schedule management.
  • Drive production performance by balancing labour, machine capacity and materials, whilst proactively removing bottlenecks and improving workflow efficiency.
  • Champion continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing initiatives, delivering measurable gains in OEE, productivity, waste reduction and operational cost savings.
  • Develop a culture of accountability and operational excellence through visual management, problem-solving methodologies and daily performance reviews.
  • Lead, coach and develop shop floor teams, enhancing workforce capability through training, cross-skilling, succession planning and performance management.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality, supporting ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 compliance, driving corrective actions and maintaining right-first-time manufacturing.
  • Promote a strong health, safety and compliance culture while contributing to strategic business objectives through KPI reporting, capital investment projects and capacity planning.

We are keen to receive applications from individuals who possess;

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role within engineering, precision manufacturing, machining, fabrication or metalworking environments.
  • A strong track record of delivering LEAN and continuous improvement projects, with demonstrable results in productivity, efficiency, quality and cost reduction.
  • Practical expertise in LEAN manufacturing tools and methodologies, including 5S, SMED, TPM, value stream mapping, visual management and structured root cause analysis.
  • Experience leading multi-shift manufacturing operations, developing high-performing teams, and using ERP/MRP systems and performance data to drive operational decisions.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings and tolerances, alongside a strong commitment to health & safety, quality standards and operational excellence.

Salary & Benefits;

  • Up to £55,000 per annum
  • Annual performance-related bonus of up to 10%

  • Monday to Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm
