Are you an experienced NPD Technologist who enjoys creating innovative food products and seeing new concepts come to life? We have an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a collaborative product development team where you’ll be developing new, innovative products for some of the UK’s biggest retailers.

About the Role:

This is a hands on NPD Technologist role where you’ll be working with customers and internal teams to develop exciting, commercially viable concepts. Reporting to the Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new recipes and improving existing products in line with customer briefs, market trends and commercial objectives.
  • Carrying out feasibility studies, kitchen trials and product evaluations and producing customer samples.
  • Managing NPD projects through the early product development stages, ensuring costings and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Working closely with Technical, Packaging, Procurement, and Process teams to ensure products are ready to be successfully scaled up.
  • Mentoring and supporting a junior Technologist.

About You:

  • Experience as an NPD Technologist in food manufacturing, ideally qualified to degree level in Food Science or similar.
  • Worked with major UK retailers, with a good understanding of customer expectations and commercial requirements.
  • Highly organised, able to manage and prioritise multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Passionate about food (knowledge of bakery would be ideal) with a strong knowledge of current market trends.
  • Able to work well with colleagues and customers at all levels.
