We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to join a market-leading international manufacturing organisation based near the area of Hastings.   • Hours of work – Days and Nights, 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am, 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off shift pattern

Roles and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanical Engineer:

  • Responsible for plant-wide proactive and reactive mechanical maintenance to ensure optimum performance of all equipment
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure delivery of Company, Factory and Team plans
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance, inspections, servicing, and mechanical repairs
  • Respond to and resolve breakdowns and mechanical issues quickly to minimise downtime
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to equipment reliability strategies

To Be Successful:

  • You will need to hold one of the following qualifications to be considered: City and Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3 and BTEC (Apprenticeship) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong mechanical background with proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience in both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, pumps, gearboxes, belts, and chains is highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of electrical fault finding and PLCs would be an advantage but is not essential
