An excellent opportunity for an experienced Joiner with an immediate start to join a well-established leading manufacturing business at its Ibstock, Leicester site.

The experienced joiner will ideally be from a mould/pattern making background, and will make patterns and moulds for the cast stone industry in a bench joinery environment, working with a skilled team with modern equipment and tools.

This is a temp to perm opportunity due to continued growth and product demand with a strong orderbook.

The position is working regular days Monday to Friday, starting on 08:00 – 16:00 then moving to 06:00 -14:00 once trained, with overtime available, paid at a premium of x 15 or x 2 uplifted rate.

Key Responsibilities of the Joiner
– Interpreting plans, reading b sketches, and CAD data to determine the specifications for patterns and moulds
– Building physical patterns and moulds from materials like wood, often with adjustments for shrinkage or draft
– Laying out, measuring, and marking out the precise dimensions of patterns on stock material using measurement and layout tools
– Assembly: Joining pieces together using fasteners, glue, and dowels to create the complete pattern
– Operating machinery, in addition to using traditional woodworking tools
– Maintaining and repairing tools and equipment
– Quality control verifying the final dimensions of a pattern ensuring it meets specifications
– Liaising with customers, designers, and other contractors to ensure the pattern meets project requirements.

Experience Required of the Joiner
– Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
– Woodworking expertise – proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools
– Mathematical skills: Strong understanding of arithmetic, geometry, and measurement
– Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and make adjustments as needed
– A keen eye for detail and the ability to translate designs into physical, accurate forms
-Understanding the properties of different materials used for pattern making
– Ability to work as part of a team or on your own, with high standards of housekeeping
– High degree of Health & Safety awareness.
