Lead the Hygiene team at a busy, high-volume food manufacturer where you’ll have the opportunity to improve standards, develop your team, and make an impact on site.

As Hygiene Manager, you will receive excellent benefits including a £4,000 car allowance, Bonus (up to 20%), enhanced pension scheme, healthcare, and life assurance.

This is a permanent nights role, working Sunday to Thursday.

The site is commutable from Leeds, Wakefield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Castleford, and surrounding areas.

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, as Hygiene Manager, you’ll be managing an established team and proactively looking for ways to raise standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing your team, promoting a proactive approach and maintaining high standards across the site at all times.
  • Managing the hygiene budget, cleaning schedules, SOPs, pest control, and waste management to ensure legal and customer requirements are met.
  • Working with the technical team to improve environmental results, support microbiological investigations and maintain BRCGS compliance.
  • Managing budgets, labour planning, and supplier relationships, looking for ways to improve efficiency.
  • Coaching and developing your team through training, performance management, and hands-on leadership to create a positive culture.

About You

  • Experience leading Hygiene teams in food manufacturing, ideally in a chilled or high-care environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, able to develop and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, COSHH, and food safety requirements.
  • Highly organised, able to balance day-to-day operational priorities with people management.
  • Able to develop strong relationships with colleagues across technical, operations, and engineering.
