Overtime paid at time and 1 half, day off on your birthday, manufacturer training, clear progression pathways, Enhanced Maternity and Paternity support, 4 times salary death-in-service cover, 24hr GP access.

£19.50 per hour, overtime paid at time and 1 half.
Alternate weeks Mon-Fri 06.00 – 14.00/Mon-Fri 14.00 – 22.00 including a paid 30-minute break. Every other Saturday paid at the applicable rate. Additional overtime and call-out available.

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a professional and supportive workshop team. This opportunity offers excellent career development, ongoing technical training, and regular overtime opportunities.

As a HGV Technician, your primary responsibility will be ensuring customers’ vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational through high-quality maintenance and repair work. The successful HGV Technician will benefit from specialist BPW and LOLER training, alongside health and safety e-learning programmes designed to enhance technical knowledge and professional growth.

Duties and responsibilities: –

  • Carrying out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial fleet equipment.
  • Completing routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance activities, including tyre replacement and oil changes.
  • Maintaining workshop stock levels and ensuring a clean, safe working environment.
  • Assisting with fault diagnosis and planning effective repair solutions.
  • Keeping accurate maintenance and service records.
  • Providing roadside breakdown assistance when required.
  • Completing documentation, warranty submissions, and associated administration accurately and efficiently.

We are very keen to hear from HGV Technicians who have the following: –

  • Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience within commercial vehicle maintenance or repair.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Ability to identify worn, damaged, or defective components in line with DVSA standards.
  • Full UK driving licence relevant to vehicle classes operated.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
