We have an opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join one of the UK’s leading chemical manufacturers based in West Yorkshire. With sites operating from multiple locations throughout the UK and Europe this company is a major player in their field. In order to maintain their status as a market leader within the sector, this manufacturer has ambitious but stable expansion and investment strategies over the next 5-10 years.

As a Field Service Engineer covering the UK, the successful candidate will be joining our client in their Laundry division working with a major leader in the manufacture of Laundry Chemicals, specifically detergents with a majority market share within the sectors they operate. With established relationships with some of the UK’s largest businesses within food, retail and healthcare, this company is offering the opportunity to join an existing and established team.

This role is focused on creation and execution of equipment and installation solutions for customers and will primarily be responsible for delivering and supporting projects at customer’s facilities.

Main Duties:

  • Scope, design, estimate, quote, and management of Water & Energy installation projects of various sizes.
  • Leading and working alongside account managers, customers, subcontractors and other stakeholders from project discovery and scoping to ultimate commissioning and handover.
  • Site inspection and surveying in conjunction with account managers or directly with end customers
  • Supervise and complete Process, Mechanical and Electrical design phase.
  • Understand and articulate technology requirements to customers and account managers and supporting the sales process.
  • Preparation of initial projects costs, scope of work, project plan and other supporting documents to form part of the commercial offer.
  • Advocating sustainable solutions to reduce environmental impact, improve efficiencies, and/or reduce cost of operation across a wide variety of customers.
  • Complete project management responsibility including change order capture.
  • Installation & Commissioning of Water & Energy recovery equipment to a high standard
  • Cost, timeline, and scope management control to ensure profitable, on time and successful
  • projects.
  • Extensive travel within UK managing multiple projects with different customers and there will be a requirement to spend time away from home as part of the installation and commissioning process.
  • Support technical training of customers and account managers in conjunction with sales district management.
  • Continuing support of previously delivered projects.

Essential Criteria

  • Electrically Qualified (18th Edition).
  • Previous experience in a similar project delivery function.
  • Design and operational understanding of pumps, tanks, filters, heat exchangers & control
  • systems.

To be successful in this position ideally candidates will have previous experience working within a similar customer focused technical service orientated role. With this being an Field Service Engineer role covering the UK from the M62 corridor down the requirement to travel (with company vehicle) is essential, meeting with clients directly on site as required within COVID guidelines.
