The Coachbuilder Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Coachbuilder to join a skilled workshop team based in Shrewsbury. Our client is a well-established UK engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke vehicle conversion solutions

This hands-on role is ideal for someone with vehicle conversion experience who enjoys working on bespoke projects and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out vehicle conversions, electrical installations, repairs, and supporting continuous product development, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities of the Coachbuilder

  • Carry out the conversion of light commercial vehicles, including the installation of racking systems, storage solutions, bespoke manufactured components, and associated fittings.
  • Install electrical systems and components, including internal and external lighting, battery management systems, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and complete repair work on converted vehicles across the UK, with occasional overnight travel when required.
  • Complete job documentation accurately using the company’s internal management system, ensuring detailed records of work completed and parts used.

What we’re looking for in our Coachbuilder

  • Previous experience as a vehicle converter, coachbuilder, automotive assembler, or auto electrician.
  • Practical automotive electrical knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and passionate about delivering quality workmanship. You’ll take pride in your work, enjoy solving technical challenges, and be committed to providing an excellent service to customers while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

Full product and systems training will be provided to ensure our coachbuilder is equipped with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the role. Ongoing development opportunities are available within a supportive and experienced engineering team.
