As an Assembly Team Leader, this is a varied, hands-on role within either mechanical or electrical assembly with responsibility for leading, motivating and developing a team. We are looking for someone with strong people management skills who can lead from the front, manage performance, address employee issues and create a positive and productive working environment.

  • Monitoring production KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activities.
  • Working with other departments to maintain quality standards, achieve targets and ensure safe working practices.

In return, the Assembly Team Leader will receive:

  • £40,000-£45,000 annual salary, depending on experience.

  • 33 days annual leave
  • 5% matched pension contribution.

Assembly Team Leader Requirements:

  • Significant experience within an assembly, manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally with previous supervisory responsibility.
  • Strong practical assembly background and willingness to remain hands-on.
  • Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate, engage and develop employees.
  • Experience managing performance, addressing employee issues and having difficult conversations when required.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of production planning, workflow management, KPIs and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical engineering drawings. IOSH Managing Safely is essential, with ILM Level 3/5, HNC/HND, Lean or Six Sigma qualifications advantageous.
