We’re recruiting a Quality Inspector to join a well‑established precision engineering company based in Clitheroe. This is a long‑term opportunity within a clean, well‑organised working environment, supported by ongoing investment in machinery and manufacturing processes. The business operates with a strong focus on standards, full traceability, and right‑first‑time manufacturing.

The Quality Inspector role is a hands‑on, shopfloor‑based position, working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure components meet tight tolerances and exacting customer requirements.

The Quality Inspector role:

  • Inspection of incoming materials, in‑process components, and finished parts
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Using manual inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers, and height gauges
  • Supporting first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections
  • Raising non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and assisting with corrective actions
  • Completing inspection documentation and maintaining full traceability
  • Supporting FAIRs and ensuring all inspection equipment is calibrated

The ideal Quality Inspector:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within machining or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Confident using manual inspection equipment
  • CMM experience would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 beneficial
  • Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification desirable
  • Methodical, organised, and detail‑focused approach
