Kate Wadsworth - Recruitment Consultant sector icon

Kate Wadsworth

I focus on recruitment within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, placing candidates across a wide range of roles, from Engineers and Operators to Account Managers and Operations Directors. It’s a sector full of variety, and that’s what I love most. No two days are ever the same, and I get to build meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life.

How Do you Work with your Clients and Candidates?

One thing that sets me apart is how well I get to know my clients and candidates. I take the time to truly understand what each person or business needs so I can tailor my approach accordingly. Strong communication, honest feedback, and full transparency are the foundations of how I work. I make sure every step of the process is clear and supported.

My background has helped me build resilience. I don’t dwell on setbacks, I move forward, stay focused, and always keep things in perspective. Clients can rely on me to go above and beyond to deliver results, even in a tough market.

Is there a Standout Moment of your Career so far?

A standout moment for me was when a candidate drove all the way from Cheshire to our head office in West Yorkshire just to say thank you and hand-deliver flowers. Moments like that show the real impact this job can have.

What are the Biggest Challenges in the Sector Right Now?

There’s a clear skills shortage in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, there are more roles than there are qualified candidates. This makes strong, honest recruitment partnerships even more important.

What Advice Would you Give to someone looking for a new role?

Sell yourself. Don’t underestimate the power of your attitude, your willingness to learn, and the transferable skills you already have.

What Do you Enjoy About E3R?

For me, the people make the place. There’s a strong team spirit at E3R, and the supportive environment makes a real difference. It’s a place where everyone wants each other to succeed.

What do you do Like Outside of Work?

Outside of work, I love spending time with friends and family, going out for meals, and travelling whenever I get the chance. If my colleagues had to describe me in three words, they’d probably say professional, friendly, and someone who goes above and beyond.

How Has your Career Grown in recruitment?

Since starting in recruitment, I’ve taken on more responsibility and now fully manage my own desk, from candidate journey to client partnerships. I love the freedom and ownership that comes with that.

What’s the Biggest Lesson you have Learned?

Be patient, resilient, and consistent. In recruitment, those qualities really do pay off.
