I specialise in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, working across both permanent and contract roles. Most frequently, I recruit for Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers, and EC&I Engineers.
Honestly, I love helping people. Supporting someone in finding their next career move and making that whole process feel smooth and stress-free is something I really value. I also genuinely enjoy speaking to new people and building relationships. No two days are ever the same, and I really like that variety.
Let’s be honest, recruiters don’t always have the best reputation – “not another recruiter call!” – but I like to think I break that mould. I’m personable and genuinely interested in my candidates’ concerns, goals, and needs. I focus on getting the right fit, not just ticking boxes or chasing monthly targets.
One of my biggest wins was placing a high-level HSEQ Manager in a really specialised contract role, and I did it under tight pressure. It had a very detailed spec, and I’ll admit, I was worried at first! But it was a great reminder of what’s possible with the right approach.
Straight-talking honesty. If expectations are unrealistic, (whether that’s salary, timelines, or job requirements) I’ll say so, but always constructively. Clients can also expect me to dig deep for the right candidate. I don’t just scrape the surface or send CVs for the sake of it. I’m all about quality, not quantity.
There are lots of vacancies in chemical and pharmaceutical but not many qualified, active candidates. That means jobseekers often have several offers on the table and sometimes drop out late in the process. My advice to candidates: please be honest with your recruiter about what else you’re exploring! It saves everyone time and keeps things moving smoothly.
LinkedIn is my go-to. I’ve built a large and active network and love seeing what’s going on in the world of chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing. There’s always something new to learn just by paying attention to the people and companies around you.
Definitely the culture. Everyone here is so supportive, and there’s a real sense of team spirit. It’s a great environment to grow in.
Bubbly, polite, and diligent.
I’m really into horse riding, I go to the gym, love photography, and spend a lot of time cooking. I try to keep life outside of work just as active and fulfilling.
If something is going bad, don’t worry – it always picks up. Recruitment has its ups and downs, so it’s important to stay calm, keep pushing, and focus on what you can control.
I’m much more confident now. Things that used to feel daunting, like pitching roles or running pre-screens, are second nature. It’s great to feel like I’ve truly found my rhythm.
Keep candidates warm! Don’t leave them hanging, don’t keep them waiting, and always keep them in the loop – especially if they have a long notice period. Communication really is everything.
