This senior level appointment is working with a UK wide international PLC listed manufacturing organization, with a market leading presence and manufacturing capabilities across the UK. The position takes responsibility for the build of a new state of the art multi-million-pound factory in the Wakefield, West Yorkshire area with a projected capital project spend circa £50m, and project duration of circa 12 months with further opportunity for plant developments thereafter.

Role Summary:

Within the position you will take full responsibility for the factory build and fit out, covering civils, m & e, machinery installation, and commissioning, working to CDM regs. The successful applicant will lead a team of project engineers and contractors to deliver a new state-of-the-art factory build, covering civils work through to installation, commissioning and handover

Day rate circa £450/600 per day, subject to experience

Specific responsibilities include:

Defining project scope, goals and project commissioning

Providing overall project direction and support to the allocated project teams – main contractor and principal contractor

Defining project scopes and specifications, working with the factory team

Resource allocation – prioritising project management allocation, working with all stakeholders

Financial management – tracking and reporting budgets and spend

Developing and implementing a project management process to ensure a consistency in project delivery

Identifying and assessing new OEMs

Monitoring the project capabilities and technical competency of OEMs

Project management including CDM

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Ideally a degree or equivalent in an accredited mechanical, civil, construction, structural, electrical or process / chemical engineering

Demonstrable experience of the planning and management of complex engineering projects, including CDM regulations

Experience of developing and managing a team

NEBOSH Certified, desirable

Knowledge of Prince II is desirable
