Our client is an internationally based OEM manufacturing business who are recruiting for a Production Manager, ideally from a heavy assembly background. The Production Manager will manage production, equipment, people and processes to ensure that capacity is fully utilised and also increased in-line with business demands resulting in budgeted output.
The Production Manager role is one of resilience and tenacity with the ability to deliver results on time, cost and quality in a pressurised environment.
Key Responsibilities of The Production Manager
*Manage, develop and embed the production pull system to meet daily business requirements.
*Demonstrate strong leadership within risk management to mitigate any potential impacts on planned output.
*Communicate daily production targets to team members throughout the manufacturing process.
*Manage manpower and equipment performance to ensure targets are met and capacity is fully utilised.
*Utilise constraint management techniques to ensure the smooth flow of product to the customer in line with required Takt, ultimately improving customer on time delivery in line with business targets.
*Implement minimum 3×3 cross functional skills across all cells. Design and implement job rotation system.
*Increase OEE through increased skill levels, performance measurement, and coaching.
*Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the required WVC and customer quality standards.
*Manage and improve 6S workplace organisation standards throughout the manufacturing facility.
*Design and implement new processes as new products / customers demand.
*Identify and lead process improvement activities as required to ensure the daily target is met consistently and ultimately increased at each stage of the production process to meet business growth targets.
*Contribute to the setting and control of monthly and annual budgets, output, expenditure, overtime.
The role comes with a basic salary of up to £50k based on experience, 33 days holiday, pension, life assurance, employee assistance programme, cycle to work scheme.
The Day shift is 7.30am-4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays.
