The Company
A global leader in producing cast and engine ready components for turbines, nickel & cobalt based superalloys. Due to exceptional growth they are seeking to recruit a Metallurgist to join them on a permanent basis.

The Metallurgist will be responsible for metallurgical examination of production and development parts in line with the company requirements and customer specifications.
Role & Responsibilities of the Metallurgist

  • Control the metallurgical manufacturing process covering a broad range of materials and products.
  • The Metallurgist will review customer specifications and drawings and approve for release of manufacture.
  • Deal with enquiries for part manufacture and generate provisional routes for quotation purposes.
  • Maintain records, review and approve appropriate metallurgical data and statistical data.
  • Define heat treatment and forging temperatures.
  • Responsible for investigating the root cause of non-conformances on products using methods such as 8D, the 5Why’s etc when appropriate.
  • As a Metallurgist you will investigate and generate technical reports.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of current and new methods of manufacture and subsequent customer approvals.
  • Manage the technical requirements relative to the procurement of raw material.
  • Participate in multi discipline teams to address issues aligned to the achievement of Company objectives.
  • Undertake other tasks within the scope of your expertise as required.

Metallurgist Qualifications/Experience

  • Ideally have a qualification in Metallurgy/Materials Science, minimum of HND or extensive relevant experience in a Metallurgist role.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Hands-on approach.
  • Organised and disciplined with excellent team working and communication skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
