Mechanical Fitter

This Mechanical Fitter role is with a personal care manufacturer producing a range of bespoke soaps for a number of global personal care companies. The Mechanical Fitter will be working for a well-established, family run business based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The business has been investing heavily across the site in order to maintain their innovative edge and continue their journey as a sustainable employer. They regularly reward their employees with additional training and are currently going through an upskilling programme across their Fitting and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter;

• Working on a 3 week rotational shift pattern, 5 days per week. (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am).
• Supporting the production teams across site to enable delivery of the production plan.
• When required attending and managing break downs across the site.
• Fault finding using a logical approach, where needed this may be performing engineering, pneumatic or hydraulic activities and / or repairs in order to ensure the plant is back up and running.
• Carry out light fabrication work supporting day engineering and improvement teams on delivering new installation, with technical input.
• Engaging in a training and development plan with both internal staff and external trainers in order to upskill and progress through the company.

This Mechanical Fitter role will suit a candidate that is apprentice trained / NVQ / C&G / City & Guilds within Mechanical Fitting. Ideally we are looking for at least 2 years of experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
