Are you a Mechanical Fitter looking for a long-term contract of up to 24 months with excellent earnings potential along with regular overtime and the opportunity to work for a worldwide Oil & Gas giant who manufacture and supply oil drilling products across the world?

This World class manufacturer globally Turn over 32B and employ 100,000 people worldwide, we are looking for a Skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a contract basis to work at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Barrow.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:

  • Using a number of power / hand tools to assist and complete the assembly of electrical connectors from start to finish following technical drawings.
  • Assembling components and parts in accordance with quality specifications, drawings and instructions
  • Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and making sure tooling is kept clean and in good order at all times

Requirements of the Mechanical Fitter:

  • Experience of working as a Mechanical Fitter or Electrical Technician within a high precision machine shop environment
  • Apprentice trained or qualified to a level 3 standard (NVQ, EITB, City & Guilds etc.) within a relevant field of engineering e.g. mechanical or electrical
  • Previous experience working with small components

Mechanical Fitter position details:

  • Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
  • Contract Length: Up to 24 Months
  • Renumeration: Up to £18 per hour
  • Overtime: Regularly available and paid at 1.5
  • Working Hours: 37 per week
    • Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 17:00
