Materials Resource Planning Manager (MRP)

Location: Normanton, West Yorkshire
Salary: £28,000-£35,000 DOE
Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, with some weekend work when required

Our client are an established business within the food production industry and currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands on, Materials Resource Planning Manager to join the Supply Chain Team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage two MRP Controllers;
  • Provide MRP, non MRP and new packaging cover when required;
  • Co-ordinate NPI & OPO;
  • Ensure all packaging items are available at all times in the quantities required for production, without over stocking:
  • Check schedules on a daily basis;
  • Book in deliveries;
  • Monitor Supplier KPI for ALL packaging;
  • Monitor stock value;
  • Maintenance of label data;
  • Process and reconcile stock counts on a weekly basis;
  • Control label locations and movements;
  • Work through 12 weeks of forecast to ensure any new or changing packaging demands are met;
  • Distribute Supplier forecasts to ensure stocks are in place;
  • Advise Suppliers of any de-lists and dates;
  • Maintain Supplier returns records, making sure all relevant batch / production information is collected when a return is raised;
  • Maintain complaints tracker;
  • Liaise with Marketing and issue weekly price sheet, updating roundel requirements;
  • Work with the Accounts team to resolve any invoice / stock queries;
  • Brief relevant personnel regarding label changes to ensure a smooth change over;
  • Manage write off and obsolete stock;
  • Advise Suppliers of print volumes for films and sleeves;
  • Ensure packaging is available to cover unforeseen plan changes on a weekend;
  • Maintain library of current labels and meat origins;
  • Maintain and update launch tracker
  • Maintain costs tracker; and
  • Liaise about Brand Bank.

Ideally Candidates will:

  • Be commercially driven and ambitious;
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience within a similar position ;
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated with “a can do will do” attitude;
  • Have excellent leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, analytical and attention to detail skills;
  • Clear communication style face to face, written and via the telephone; and
  • The ability to plan ahead, whilst working to deadlines and targets.

Required Skills and Experience:-

  • Proven Man management experience;
  • Excellent Administrative and IT skills
