A leading and specialist Chemical Manufacturer based in the Middlesbrough are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team of skilled and experienced mechanical technicians!

Salary and Benefits of the Maintenance Technician

  • Actual Salary of £44,946.32
  • Permanent Position
  • Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
  • Competitive Pension Scheme

Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician

As the Shift Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair work on site. You will ensure that the site is maintained to the required standard and to support the day-to-day running of the site.

Day-To-Day Role of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Raise relevant work permit requests and other related safe systems of work to complete a task.
  • Identify and rectify failures in service, and equipment defects related to your specific trade.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance as per the company maintenance plan to support the running of the production site.
  • Develop and review maintenance procedures to ensure maintenance tasks are executed to the required quality standard, with the goal of minimising impact on production and maximising plant availability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities with the aim of improving safety, environmental, equipment availability and efficiency performance.
  • Undertake any other duties of which the responsibility, skill and experience required fall within a post holder’s expected capability and commensurate with the post holder’s position in the company.

Essential Criteria for the Maintenance Technician

  • Mechanical qualifications; Apprenticeship level
  • Strong experience within Mechanical Fitting
  • Experience of working on a COMAH Site
  • Industry experience; Chemical, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas
  • Ability to work independently
  • Competence with computers, e.g. allocating, receiving and providing feedback on maintenance work
