Due to reorganisation our well-established client who are a component manufacturer and supplier to the Aerospace industry is seeking to bolster its maintenance management team with the appointment of a Multi Skilled hands on Maintenance Leading Hand.

Role Description

Providing both Reactive & PPM schedules for the company’s CNC machining plant and associated equipment

Provide leadership in a team environment, and the allocation of relevant maintenance work for the Maintenance Team

Diagnosing machine faults and undertake repairs Electronically, Electrically & Mechanically and selecting the best repair option, either internal or external resources

Provides relevant information to production supervision and engineering for remediation of repeat failures

Ability to identify and undertake mechanical repairs / strip downs / reassembly on a variety of manual and CNC machines within a demanding production environment

Return and handover repaired machinery back to operations fully tested, including any information regarding any set datum’s or datum changes

Responding to breakdowns during core hours and emergency out of hours to minimise downtimes

Maintain equipment logs on manufacturing equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems

Liaise with contractors / sub-contractors to organise machine maintenance schedules, or any other works or building requirements

Provide a continuous increase in equipment availability

Identify Continual Improvement Opportunities/Processes to reduce machine downtime

Initiate a Total Preventative Maintenance programme / 5s schedule

Skills and Qualifications

Experience with CNC manufacturing equipment with working knowledge of start-up, shut down, operational adjustments, and maintenance repair production equipment.

Working knowledge of electrical schematics, technical manuals, pneumatic schematics, and equipment specifications.

Use of Microsoft office products

Multi-skilled Maintenance Experience

Electrical Qualification (HNC/Apprenticeship)

Fault Finding ability both Electrically & Mechanically

PLC Experience

Good understanding of maintenance best practice (TPM, FMEA, 5s’s)

This role would suit a maintenance engineer who is keen to progress into a supervisory role or a maintenance supervisor wanting to develop into a maintenance manager’s position.
