Our client is an industry leading manufacturing business with a multimillion-pound turnover and impressive growth plans, supported with large scale investment, and an existing established network of manufacturing facilities across the UK. With plans for investment at their Leicestershire factory, our client is now seeking to appoint a number of Machine Operators to join their team. Within the position you will have the opportunity to be involved with a wide of range of manufacturing operations, which will be supported with a wide range of training opportunities, including accredited training programs, as well as on the job training to ensure that you have all the skills required to undertake the position. As such, we are keen to speak with individuals who fit the below criteria.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT – Our client aims to operate to world-class standards and the successful candidate will be required to commit to a focused programme of training and development which will include:

    • Multi-functional operation, across departments
    • TPM Tools & Techniques inclusive of 5S principles.
    • Localised Health and Safety, and Environmental Procedures.
    • Localised up-skilling, to operate machinery and plant equipment

Working a family friendly day shift-based pattern, 4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 4 days off, providing 2 weekends off in ever 4. Days based from 6am to 6pm, with no nights, plus 23 days additional leave per annum
Salary £24,700 per annum + Company pension up to 11% company contribution, life cover up to 8 x of salary, cycle to work scheme, child care vouchers, + potential overtime opportunities

Key Requirements:

  • Experience of operating manufacturing plant and machinery within a production-based environment, following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Numerate, literate and computer literate
  • Experience in performing product and Quality Assurance checks
  • Hazard identification experience with a strong appreciation and understanding of the importance of Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment
  • A problem-solving aptitude that may be supporting with lean/continuous improvement activities
  • Setting and operating of machinery in a time sensitive “right first time, target driven environment
  • The want to train, learn and develop new skills, which will also involve the operation of pressing and packaging machinery, plus mobile loading shovels (FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED)
