We’re working with one of the UK’s leading manufacturing and assembly companies who have experienced exponential growth over the last 18 months. Due to their current level of business and their continuous expansion plans they are looking to recruit for an experienced HSE Manager.

As the companies HSE Manager you have a pivotal role to play in the development and growth of the business which is focused on manufacturing on a right first-time basis utilising specialist equipment. On their journey to becoming a world class manufacturer, this role is of paramount importance in ensuring the right systems and processes are in place as an integral part of the business.

You will be comfortable being the leader of safety on a site of over 300 colleagues and will take responsibility for the dissemination of modern health and safety practices throughout the business, increasing the momentum of behavioural safety awareness through a combination of training, effective communication and world class systems and processes.

You will have an ambition to have the business recognised as a leader in safety and will be eager to host other businesses on site to share the best practice you help create.
Determining the right measures of safety for the business, you will control your own set of KPIs and will work with other site leaders to ensure those agreed targets are met. You will be an environmental champion who finds the idea of anything being buried in landfill offensive. You will design, implement and champion our approach to protecting the environment.


  • Define, implement and lead the HSE strategy.
  • Provide expertise and direction in relation to H&S during various processes including manufacturing, site developments and installations.
  • Provide a professional supporting service in relation to incident investigation and rectification of non-compliance reported
  • Define, monitor, support, implement and enforce health and safety policy, procedures, processes and systems across the business;
  • Assisting the Business with initial subcontractor prequalification and then subsequent assessment and monitoring of site specific SSoW and associated RAMS
  • Produce monthly health and safety performance reports
  • Carry out dynamic work place inspections, providing corrective advice & guidance where necessary;
  • Monitor and report on our specialist subcontractor’s Health and Safety compliance.

Qualifications & Training:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH Qualified with Chartered Membership (CMIOSH) preferred


  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Safety leadership including assuring compliance to statutory requirements and liaison with governing bodies
  • Detailed knowledge of UK Health and Safety and CDM regulations
  • Experience of working with ISO18001/14001/9001
