HGV Technician is needed, salary basic of circa £28K with OT paid after 37.5 hrs, permanent position, Markey leading Electrical vehicle Technology company, full training given.No weekend working

Location of the HGV Technician position: Sheffield

To support the conversion of electric vehicles. The HGV Technician will play a key role in the integration of electric drive systems into a trucks, buses and off road Automobiles.

The HGV Technician will be working closely with a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers and Auto Electricians.

We would also welcome people to apply that have experience working as a PSV Fitter, PSV Technician, Heavy Plant Fitter, REME engineers or people that have worked in a similar background

Responsibilities of the HGV Technician position:

  • Checking the mechanical condition of existing vehicles prior to conversion.
  • Removal of engines and associated cooling, exhaust systems.
  • Removal inspection and re-fitting of transmission components.
  • Installation and commissioning of electric drive system.
  • Installation of commercial air-brake systems.
  • Installation and modification of steering and hydraulic systems.
  • Modifications to body work.
  • Modifications to interior trim.
  • Generating manufacturing and installation instructions and procedures.
  • Working to all relevant internal and external standards.
  • Working within engineering and quality processes.
