Health & Safety Coordinator

Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS) vacancy to ensure and drive Health and Safety policies and procedures internally and externally to maintain EHS regulations/legislations. You will be reviewing accident reports, establishing proactive health and safety programmes or coordinating employee health and safety activities
The facility, based at Leeds Bradford Airport has two state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance hangar facilities, along with a significant repair capability .
The site has the capability to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for a range of engine types – including the world’s most powerful commercial private aircrafts, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility.

The postion will become a Health & Safety managerial role within a 12-18 month period due to retirement.

Responsible for the compliance of EHS strategic approach’s, including management standards (i.e. ISO -14001 and OHSAS -18001) * Analyse EHS key performance indicators (KPI’s) data and reports, translate information into improvement programmes (Technical Leads: Safety, Fire, Environment and Performance)* H&S Diploma * IEMA Certificate * NEBOSH Diploma

• Define and monitor Safety audits done on time in full as per schedule
• Ensure all H&S training needs are fulfilled
• Liaise with Occupational Health for periodical surveillance
• Provide leadership to fulfil requirements of internal and external audits
• Creates a Safety Steering Committee and Safety Reps
• Chairs the monthly Safety Steering Committee meeting
• Maintain and improve upon requirements of OHSAS 18001
• Creation and periodical management of RA’s and Operating Procedures
• Ensure the completion and management of Safety and Action Plan
• Guarantees that all safety legislation/ legal compliance is met
• Enforces with all personnel the adherence to safety rules and guidelines, leading by example.
• Compliance to audit actions
• Leading KPIs of audits, near misses, number of RAs/SOPs, OPLs, Tool Box talks etc
