Role Summary:
The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering function for the business, they will take full responsibility for the day to day management of the team and the engineering requirements that support the site.
The successful candidate will have worked within the food industry, and needs to be able to cope with a demanding environment, haveing the ability to problem solve and resolve any issues that may arise.
The ideal candidate will have come from being a hands-on engineer within the food industry,and who will look to lead by example, reducing machine downtime, develop the engineering team and have experience in Capex budget management and project management.
Other duties will include writing PPM’s and ensuring this is schedule is rolled effectively and maintained.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing the development of engineers as well as helping to identify areas of improvement on current manufacturing equipment.
The Role will include:

  • The management of the External Contractors schedule to ensure the site is operating its resources safely.
  • Ensuring the Internal PPM system is continually updated and manged to ensure compliance.
  • Manage Capex projects to ensure that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Minimise factory down time.
  • Establish systems that ensure safe ways of working are in place for all staff and contractors.
  • Provide engineering solutions to assist Operations in delivering factory efficiency.
  • Manage and negotiate maintenance contracts.
  • To liaise with external agencies (HSE & Auditing Bodies)
  • Will have experience within chilled food manufacturing environments.
